You can go green is a variety of ways. You can conserve energy and ride the DART rail through downtown Dallas, reducing your carbon footprint. But green living involves a bigger lifestyle change. It’s larger than turning off lights in an unused room—new green living happens from the ground up.
You can go green on a personal level with a few apartment lifestyle changes:
Stop Using Chemical-Based Cleaners
Baking soda and vinegar are great alternatives for dirty jobs that will help you lessen your chemical impact on the environment.
Utilize Public Transportation
The DART system serves the majority of Dallas, so there is no need for you to drive to work. Riding your bike is another great way to eliminate harmful emissions, while exercising at the same time.
Look For New Ways To Conserve Energy
Your kitchen is a room in your luxury apartment that uses a lot of energy. Simply cleaning the coils behind your refrigerator can improve its performance. Also, unplug your coffeemaker or toaster when you’re not using them.
Reduce Waste
Cutting just two minutes off of your shower can save up to 150 gallons of water per month. Whether it is the trash you produce or the amount of water you put down the drain, keep an eye on what you use. Also, choose a Dallas apartment that offers a recycling program.
Live in a Green Environment
Choosing apartment homes with LEED certification ensures that you’ll maximize the green in your lifestyle. Combining personal green techniques with a green luxury apartment is a sure way to save money and protect our environment.
The Heights at Park Lane offers certified and sustainable luxury apartment living. Our 2 and 3 bedroom apartments are located on the DART rail line and within walking distance of Whole Foods. If you want to live in urban style and go green while you’re at it, then we invite you to see what our apartment homes have to offer.
