The Heights at Park Lane | Apartmentratings.com 5-Star Review
- on Apartmentratings.com
I've lived at The Heights at Park Lane for a year and half now and I am definitely satisfied with my experience thus far. Everyone has different priorities when looking for a place to live. Mine are listed below with comments on how The Heights meets them.
Convenience/Accessibility/Location:
The Heights is located off I-75 and Park Lane. I can take 75S and get to Uptown in about 5 minutes and downtown in about 10 min. I can take 75N and get to 635 in less than 5 minutes, getting me to Addison in about 10-15 min. Everything is close enough to not be a burden to drive to, but far enough away I don t have to deal with the ridiculous parking, noise, etc. if I were to live in those immediate locations.
Shopping, dining, and general entertainment are literally a walking distance away. There are several stores currently open (Saks off Fifth, Nordstrom Rack, ---- s Sporting Goods, and more recently Old Navy to name a few). Northpark Center is directly across 75 as well. There are two restaurants open, Bailey s Prime Plus and Gordon Biersch, both of which are great. I know a sushi bar, a burger place, and a pizza place are likely to join the development in the near future, along with some additional retail stores.
The Heights is part of a huge, on-going development. They opened during the peak of the economic crisis, so they haven t experienced the growth I m sure they initially anticipated. As the economy has started picking up, it is definitely noticeable in the area. It will continue to grow, making it an even better place to live.
Property:
Floor Plans
All of the floor plans I ve seen have been very open, giving you different options on how you want to decorate your place. Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and hardwood floors are all standard. Their closets are HUGE.
Parking
I never have to worry about parking. There are plenty of available spaces and I never have to worry about parking on different levels.
Staff
I ve only had maybe one or two minor issues (loose door handle), which were addressed quickly. The office staff does a good job of making you feel welcome. The property as a whole is kept clean as well.
Safety
I ve never felt unsafe while living here. I find it hard to believe the mentioned stories to be true. There is no entry in the building that doesn t require you to scan your FOB to enter, including the parking garage, which is linked to your Toll Tag. And after a certain hour every door is locked, requiring you to speak to the desk attendant through the speaker before they will let you in (if you don t have a FOB).
Noise
Noise has been minimal for me. My place looks at 75/Northpark, and I ve never had a problem with highway noise. Noise regarding residents and pets hasn t been an issue either. Each floor has a foot of concrete between them and there is steel reinforcement in the walls. I have a ping pong table in my place. Concerned I was making too much noise I asked my neighbor if she could hear me. She said she never heard anything. You can hear pets sometimes as you walk through the halls, but once you close your door, it s silence.
Residents
The residents here are great. Everyone is very friendly and happy to have a conversation. Whether you are on the elevator, getting your mail, or attending one of the weekly events, you always see people meeting new people, talking to friends they ve made, etc. It is a very welcoming environment.
Events
The events here are great. During the week they will bring in a caterer to feed to residents a variety of different types of food (often based on the season or holiday). It is clearly a priority to the community that everyone meets and gets to know their neighbors and fellow residents. Around Christmas they brought out reindeer for the kids to see and pet, so they cater to both children and adults.
As I said before, everyone has different priorities when looking for a place to live. The Heights does a great job of meeting and exceeding my expectations.
